About us
Our hosting story began in 2017:
We had an empty guest room in our home in the Short North neighborhood of Columbus, so we decided to put a listing for the room on Airbnb. We soon welcomed our first guests into our home. Not long after that, we experimented with renting our entire house while we were away for vacation - and then we decided to launch our first "full apartment" rental.
In 2019, some friends asked us to handle the operations of their short-term rental duplex, so we started a co-hosting business and helped launch their property on Airbnb and VRBO. We now provide a wide range of operational support and technology solutions for short-term rentals in Columbus, Ohio.
The properties featured on this site are owned by our clients; we're here to connect guests with those owners and to help stays go smoothly! We live in the Short North of Columbus with our family, within a few blocks of many of the rentals that we support.

Nat Sheppard
Nat leads our business and has been working full time on building a short-term rental hosting business since 2020. Nat has a background in management consulting, technology systems, and business process optimization, and spent nearly a decade working with a large consulting firm before jumping into real estate investing and short-term rentals with both feet. Nat is a Columbus native and a graduate of The Ohio State University, where he studied engineering and business.
Kate Dixon
Kate works part-time with StayInColumbus, handling a little bit of everything - quality inspections, purchasing, maintenance coordination, and accounting! When she's not too busy, she somehow manages to find time to work as a physical therapist. Kate is from the Cleveland area and settled in Columbus after attending Elon University and The Ohio State University.
Patrick Larrimer
Patrick is a local real estate agent and started with StayInColumbus in 2023 to work with our new accounts and support our growth. Patrick is a Columbus native, attended St. Charles, and then went on to Ohio University. After a few years in Denver, he came home to Columbus in 2014 and has since been working as a real estate agent, property manager, and investor. Patrick lives in the 5th by Northwest neighborhood with his wife Leah.
